KICKOFF MEETING

The FET-OPEN project "UWIPOM2" will seek to develop micro-robotic mechanisms for minimally invasive micro-surgery techniques and in-vivo health treatments. The project, coordinated by Universidad de Alcalá, counts with, Advanced Hall Sensors Ltd, Politechnika Warszawska, IMDEA Nanociencia and Boston Scientific as partners.

UWIPOM2 is a H2020-FET-Open project aiming to develop the first micrometric-size Ultra-Efficient Wireless Powered Micro-robotic joint (UWIPOM2), enabling the creation of micro-robotic complex mechanisms for minimally invasive micro-surgery techniques and in-vivo health treatments. The scientific-technological aim is to create the first building block able to power future healthcare micro-robots. Test in in-vivo like environment will be done to demonstrate its feasibility.

On 2nd and 3rd October 2019 , UWIPOM2 team met in the polytechnical building of Universidad de Alcala, Madrid, Spain.

Two meeting days in which all teams shared their points of view and solutions in order to achieve the main goals for the development of this technology.

Several technical aspects were discussed and brainstormed. All teams got the necessary information tasks and timetables to start researching in their respective fields.
